Redactor Release V7.0

Sighthound Introduces Redactor V7 With Expanded AI-Powered Detection and New Audit Capabilities

ORLANDO, Fla., January 2026: Sighthound today announced the release of Sighthound Redactor V7, the latest version of its AI-powered redaction platform for video, image, and audio content. The release expands automatic detection to include IDs, screens, and documents, while introducing background redaction, audit logs and workflow controls designed to support high-volume, compliance-driven review environments.

Redactor V7 builds on the performance and stability improvements delivered throughout recent Redactor 6.x releases, extending the platform’s ability to help organizations protect sensitive information while maintaining traceability, consistency, and review confidence.

“Redactor V7 reflects what our customers have been asking for: broader automatic redaction combined with stronger controls around how evidence is reviewed, modified, and exported,” said Zain Masood, co-founder and chief technology officer at Sighthound. “This release is about helping teams move faster without sacrificing accuracy or trust.”

Expanded automatic detection across more sensitive content

In addition to existing support for heads, people, license plates, and vehicles, Redactor V7 introduces automated detection and redaction of identification documents, on-screen displays, and documents in both video and image files. New background redaction capabilities further reduce the need for manual cleanup in complex scenes.

These additions are designed for organizations that regularly process body-worn camera footage, interview recordings, surveillance video, and other evidence containing layered or overlapping sensitive information.

New audit logs and workflow safeguards

Redactor V7 also adds exportable audit logs, providing a detailed record of actions taken during a redaction session, including user activity and file integrity data. This feature supports internal review, quality control, and evidentiary workflows where accountability and traceability are extremely important.

Additional workflow enhancements include undo and redo support, improved object visibility in dense scenes, and refinements that help reviewers manage sessions with large numbers of detected objects more efficiently.

Built for flexible deployment and automation

Redactor continues to support multiple deployment options, including desktop, server, and API-based environments, allowing teams to integrate redaction into existing review systems or automated pipelines. Recent platform updates have also strengthened resilience in mixed hardware and network conditions, helping ensure consistent operation in real-world deployments.

Availability

Sighthound Redactor V7 is available beginning January 2026. Existing customers can upgrade from earlier versions, and new users can request a trial or demo.
