more detection types (dog, car)

I would really like to see some more detection types than just person.

Detecting cars or animals requires detecting all motion right now. It's detect person, or detect everything...

I really want this also.

However, depending on your camera view, it is easy enough to setup a rule for an unknown object crossing a line across the road. This catches both cars and people walking past. It works great as eliminating trees and other movement.

I specifically want to search for 'car', 'animal', 'person'. Further, 'license plate', 'sedan', 'van', 'UPS', 'FEDEX' etc.

ie, show me all 'deliveries' today returns UPS, Fedex, USPS.

Oh yes. Even if I set the rule to just show "people" I also get lots of shots of cats, birds, shadows from headlights, trees waving in the wind, possums, foxes, more cats ...

I agree that cars should be detected separately. To detect cars at the dead-end street near my house I need to set rule type "Any object" that returns too many useless alerts.

By using the minimum object size, the visible for X seconds settings and a specified region I have drawn, I get this now and it works reliably to detect parked cars on a road behind my house.

Sighthound Video version 6.0 is still being worked on and the release is still unknown. Unfortunately, we are not able to disclose any of the new features as of yet. Although, once it is finished, you can find all of the release notes at the link below:
