Spinning beachball when network goes down

by mikelee » Wed Jan 22, 2020 1:36 pm

HI,

Anyone else have this issue?

When my network goes down (been updating my network recently) Sighthound will go in to spinning beachball.
I cannot quit except force quit, and restarting app will NOT work. Log out/in will NOT work.

I am forced to reboot the whole Mac computer.

I have 13 cams most of about half 4k cams.

Thanks,
Mike

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out. Sighthound Video is a multi-process application. This sounds as if one of those processes was going unresponsive. You can open either Activity Monitor or Task Manager and make sure all processes are killed. Then restarting Sighthound Video should work.

If you are experiencing this a lot, you can send in a bug report to us by clicking Help > Report a Problem and we can take a deeper look at what is going on. We will be standing by for your reply, thank you!

yes, this happens almost everytime I take my network down.

There are a lot of sub processes to kill...

I will submit a ticket next time I do it.

HI,

It's spinning now, but I am unable to do anything in Sighthound to submit a ticket. I just submitted ticket after restarting everything including it's subprocesses.

Thanks,
Mike

I've had the same problems using my Mac. In the end they just ignore you.
