Sighthound Video 6 beta issues

by Jason0x4c » Thu May 02, 2019 5:36 pm

Since I upgraded to the Sighthound 6 beta, there hasn't been a single new entry to "People", "Vehicles", or "Animals". It marks moving objects just fine, but it puts everything under "Unknown objects". I tried using higher resolution camera streams, but that made no difference. I also completely uninstalled and re-installed Sighthound (including clearing out the Sighthound folder under %LocalAppData%), but that made no difference either. One thing I noticed is that the Sighthound camera logs keep showing errors like the one below around the times that motion occurs:
error: [Errno 10061] No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it

Is it running some local server where it connects to itself to identify objects? The Windows firewall is disabled, and I'm not running any other security software besides Windows 10's built-in antivirus.

Greetings from Australia,
Not as dramatic as yours, but I noticed that besides pretty spot on classification of moving object around half of cars, animals and people ended up in unknown, hence unreported section.
To help crew I exported example clips and sent to Sighthound for review. To sum up, while there is exciting object identification inbuilt I can't see any better object recognition in v6 compare to v5
Kind regards,
Greg

Installed it at 2 locations. I have that problem with one of the locations as well.

I wonder what the difference is. I'm running Sighthound on a pretty standard Windows 10 installation. The only thing unusual about the system is that it's virtualized on top of KVM, but that shouldn't make any difference to Sighthound. The VM has 8GB of memory assigned to it and 4 cores available. The physical processor is an Intel Core i7-3770S.

I have tried it with these cameras:
Hikvision DS-2CD2132-I (2048x1536 and 640x480, both H.264)
Amcrest IPM-721B (1280x720, H.264)

Here's some more information if it helps any. I noticed the Windows application event log was being flooded with events like the ones shown below. It looks like the issue is with the file MKLDNNPlugin.dll.

I'm seeing the same Temporoary Video (not saved by a rule) message for each video clip where it detects motion.

I checked the application logs (Win 7 PRO) and see the following error each time a clip is detected:

Code: Select all
Faulting application name: Sighthound Agent.exe, version: 6.0.1.0, time stamp: 0x4918017b
Faulting module name: vinonodes.dll, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5cbf4562

is version 6 still been actively tested by users? the convo is pretty quiet here.

Does anyone know if version 6 also has remote arm/disarm features?

Well I happened to check the download page and noticed that they released a new version of the beta on May 31st. I've been running it for several hours now, and it looks like it has mostly resolved the issue of it labeling everything as "Unknown Objects". Since applying the May 31st update I have seen it correctly identify vehicles, animals and people, and it's doing a pretty good job at it.

I say "mostly resolved" though because the Windows event log still shows a few APPCRASH events involving "Sighthound Agent.exe" and "MKLDNNPlugin.dll". But that only happened on a few occasions. Not like before where it seemed like every motion event was causing them.

awesome good to know. Odd they don't talk about the beta releases here. is there another forum? didn't the ceo say they were going to communicate better now? happy to be wrong

edit: got sighthound version 6 running - easy to move over (didnt have to update rules or anything).

Seems to ID my dog most of the time. Will be sending sighthound lots of clips...especially nighte clips as I have good IR but find things get wrongly tagged (tho haven't tested 6 yet at night)
