People recognition problem (dog, cat)

by buu-bw » Mon Aug 27, 2018 8:56 am

We are using Sighthound Pro with 5 FullHD cameras, and notice that
Sighthound recognize dog and start recording clip with rule, that
should look for people.
Sometime Sighthound recognize as people even leafs on trees.

Cameras: EZVIZ Husky AIR
Connection: LAN
Subscription: Pro
Video examples: ... ChLrR86L_6 ... d8zTmWqs5V ... hKrBBewixk

Any advices in this situation?
What's best option to solve it in your opinion?
And how we can avoid same situation on HD(720p) cameras, if later we decide to set up additional cameras, without buying FullHD?

This issue was sended via email to from eal@2me****.ru and we still recieve any feedback.

I'm sorry to hear you're seeing false detections in the latest update. Unfortunately, no algorithm is perfect. Sighthound Video does leagues better in both general object and person detection, but there will always be flaws due to the endless variety of scene conditions and objects. We are constantly working to improve our algorithms, and hopefully, we'll be able to improve the accuracy of your scenes in future updates. I'm afraid there are no changes we can make at this moment to improve the algorithms for your specific scenes.

If you are getting a lot of false alerts, you can create a rule that only shows clips of motion inside a region of the screen. This will help mostly for trees and bushes that are receiving a lot of false positives. You can find more information on how to do this at the link below:

Also, filtering out objects that are only briefly visible can eliminate many clips. You may not be interested in cars or people passing by, or you may have false alerts that sporadically appear for a second or two. You can filter out these cases by creating a rule that has a duration setting (e.g., only show objects visible longer than 5 seconds).

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns, thank you!
