does anyone have a solution to alert you if your PC is down?

Here is my current solution: I setup a script on a raspberry pi to ping my security machine that is running sighthound to hopefully alert me if the computer goes offline or crashes/freezes, but I'm thinking there may be cases where a computer is locked up to the point of not recording video but stil...

Re: IFTTT to make sighthound behave differently when home/aw

Thanks for the response Kevin. If anyone else read this or unless you have a more direct workaround: I think I'll use dropbox and an autohotkey script doing something similar to this where I'll have my mouse clicks enable/disable the rules: http://styxnyx.com/general/launch-your-favorite-game-anytim...

IFTTT to make sighthound behave differently when home/away

Maybe there is already a way to do this but I was hoping there was a direct way to take IFTTT and instead of using sighthound as the trigger, use something else as a trigger to activate/deactivate rules in sighthound: When I am not home (maybe triggered by my phone not being on the wifi) I like to s...

Re: Run SightHound over past video files?

I'd suggest that you write a program that will emulate an IP camera with the pre-existing video files as the "viewed scene". Run that program in another computer on the local network and feed the video files to SightHound as if they are coming from an IP cam. There is still the problem th...

Hey Devin,

How long will sighthound run without internet access? If my internet went out for a day would my home still be protected? Thanks

Re: (At least) one more license step

I tried ispy and the setup was over complicated, and the motion detection was horrid for me. Good luck, maybe they have improved since!

Re: Every few days "cannot connect to camera," needs restart

I'm having the same issue on the latest release. My USB camera works fine, but my axis network camera disconects every few days but I'm still able to connect to my IP camera in web browser. My driveway is no longer protected, please fix this sighthound!

Re: A "time frame" to save to a certain folder

Hi saintjohnny, You can duplicate the rule you currently have and set the new rule to only export to your google drive folder between 8 and 4. For example: Rule A would save clips 24 hours everyday as usual and Rule B would not save clips, but only export to your local folder between 8 and 4. For d...

Re: Trigger After Period of Inactivity

The logic of this would be hard to draw out without getting false positives as you've mentioned. I think if you just set a camera at the door and recorded people "entering" from a door, then you would have a good chance at being alerted only when people entered your house (unless they brok...
